Let me tell thee
About the night
The hare and the moon did collide
You see
The Irish hare
Did ask the moon
If he be fair
And wise
The moon did reply
“Why, if ye believe your fair and wise
And ye act all fair and wise
Then surely ye must be fair and wise”
With that, the hare
Did leap and bound about
All through the night
In sheer delight
To think
he be fair and wise
Why
The fairest and wisest
He must surely be
